For licenses renewed on/after January 1, 2023, Senate Bill 677 requires that licensed healthcare professionals who have direct patient interaction with adults age 26 and above, must complete at least a one-hour course in training on the diagnosis, treatment and care of individuals with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias per renewal period. 

Implicit Bias Training: New regulation as of 2/28/2022

Each renewal period, all licensees must complete one hour of Implicit Bias Training. Please see our topic: Implicit Bias Training

 

Sexual Harassment Prevention Training - new regulation for renewals after 1/1/2020

All persons who hold a professional license issued by the IL Department of Financial and Professional Regulation and are subject to a continuing education requirement shall complete a one-hour course in sexual harassment training.  A licensee may count this one hour for completion of this course towards meeting the minimum credit hours required for continuing education.

Continuing Education Requirements of The Board of Certification

The National Athletic Trainer's Association Board of Certification (BOC) is the national governing body responsible for credentialing Athletic Trainers (AT).  To maintain current AT certification, individuals must meet BOC continuing education (CE) requirements. A total of fifty (50) hours of CE is required every two (2) years. Athletic Trainers can earn 50 hours of CE through Category A, or courses provided by BOC Approved Providers.  Although CEUs are no longer awarded for emergency cardiac care (ECC) certification, ATs need to be current with the ECC requirements throughout the reporting period.
