Dr. Robert Clyde Affolter completed his Bachelor of Arts degree with a chemistry major in 1977, at the University of Kansas. He stayed there and went on to complete a Master of Business Administration degree in 1978. After graduating, he worked for IBM for three years. He resigned his position as associate systems engineer in 1981 to attend Palmer College. While attending Palmer, Dr. Affolter took extra-curricular courses in Grostic, Pierce-Stillwagon, and Logan Basic techniques. He was an intern for Dr. E. L. Crowder. He also began his teaching career as a lecturer for the PCC chiropractic technician program. He graduated with honors from PCC in 1984.
After graduation, he became a lecturer at Western Washington University and taught business classes in the College of Business and Economics. He opened his chiropractic practice in Bellingham, WA in 1985. In 1998, he co-founded Innate Foundation; which is dedicated to improving the human condition and advancing the recognition of Innate Intelligence. Today, Innate Foundation Publishing publishes books and other materials to elevate mankind. In 2002, he published Improving the Odds - From the Crapshoot of Manipulative Therapy to the Innate Chiropractic Adjustment. The book provides his insights into the philosophy, science and art of chiropractic along with an overview of seven chiropractic techniques. He was also admitted to the postgraduate faculty of Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic that year. He taught a "Technique Medley" course, using his book as a text.
He was part of the technique panel which updated the clinical practice guidelines, "2003 Clinical Practice Guideline: Vertebral Subluxation in Chiropractic Practice." His articles have appeared in The Chiropractic Journal, The Bellingham Business Journal, and The New Times. His paper, "The Reality of the Mental Realm and Its Clinical Significance" was presented at the ICA's Conference on Philosophical Chiropractic Standards in 2004. Dupe 'em and Dope 'em was published by Innate Foundation Publishing in 2010. It combines two e-books Dr. Affolter wrote the previous year: Exposed The "Science" of Medicine and the Dollars It Generates and Exposed How Politics Increased the Cost of Health Care in America. In addition to his private practice, writing and speaking, Dr. Affolter is currently on faculty of ChiroCredit, LLC (www.chirocredit.com). He has authored 2 courses on business, 16 courses on chiropractic philosophy and one course on x-ray analysis for continuing education credit. He also writes a weekly email column, Affolter's Chiropractic Comments, which is read by chiropractors around the world.
Dr. Shawn Allen is a 1995 graduate of the National Chiropractic College, now National University of Health Sciences (NUHS). He completed his post-graduate residency in orthopedics at NUHS in 1999 and prior to that graduated with his first bachelor of science degree from the University of Waterloo (Ontario, Canada) in kinesiology.. Dr Allen works with a broad base of patients including Olympic, professional, para-professional, collegiate and All-American sprinters, distance runners, swimmers, marathoners, gymnasts, dancers (ballet, modern and ballroom), football, baseball and Olympic distance, Sprint and IRONMAN tri-athletes. His private practice is in Westmont, Illinois a suburb of Chicago. He is an adjunct faculty member for post graduate education with the Lincoln School of post professional education in Chicago. He has lectured nationally on foot-ankle, gait biomechanics and orthopedics. He is a regular lecturer/speaker for many fitness, coaching and healthcare companies. He is a former chiropractor for the Chicago Joffrey Ballet professional dance company, former physician for Newman/Haas Indy Car Race team (the late actor Paul Newman) and Team Physician and consultant for many private athletic teams. He works seasonally with over a dozen high schools and colleges treating their girls and boys cross country, track and field, football, basketball and baseball teams and has been an integral component in helping teams and individuals to reach State and National Championships. He, along with Dr Ivo Waerlop authored the textbook: Pedographs and Gait Analysis: Clinical Applications and Pearls, along with numerous articles on lower extremity and gait mechanics. They also founded "The Gait Guys", a national and internet presence gait information resource and consortium where they blog and podcast weekly. Dr Allen is likes to experiment with different types of exercise regimens including dance, gymnastics, pilates, rowing, running and various other activities to broaden his understanding of complex body motions and biomechanics.
Dr. Dev Batungbacal has made a full-time career teaching Review courses for Chiropractic State and National Boards since 1981. He was instrumental in the design and production of multiple State and National Board Programs, and developed an innovative approach to teaching radiology. He has taught as many as 35 courses a year, including all parts of the National Boards (1, 2, 3, 4 and SPEC), and more than 20 different State Boards. In 1985, he founded Professional Licensing Consultants, Inc., Chiropractic's Premiere exam specialists, helping thousands of students and chiropractors pass their Boards and obtain their licenses. Dr. Batungbacal has also been an adjunct faculty (post-graduate program) for Life University, and a guest speaker for the American Chiropractic Association N.C.L.C. in Washington, D.C., and Texas Chiropractic Association's Chiro-Texpo '15, and '16. Dr. Bryan Born graduated with honors from Parker College of Chiropractic in 1991, and has been in full time practice in a 3-chiropractor office with his wife and father since then in Southfield, MI. In 1993 he was asked to develop and teach the pathology and pharmacology curriculum for a massage therapy institute in Michigan, which at the time was on the vanguard of education in the U.S. for that profession. He went on to develop curriculum for massage schools from coast to coast, and in 2005 published The Essential Massage Companion: Everything You Need to Know to Navigate Safely Through Today's Drugs and Diseases. The quick reference guide is a 552 page comprehensive text covering over 500 diseases and 3,000 medications. Dr. Cordas graduated from Elizabethtown College with a BS in Science. He then attended the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and graduated as the salutatorian in 1964. After his internship, he completed a 3- year internal medicine residency in Dayton Ohio. He then moved to Texas as a general internist and served as chairman of the department of internal medicine at several area hospitals for over 20 years in the Fort Worth- Dallas area. He also was and remains a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of North Texas Health Science Center - Texas College of Osteopathic medicine. He was certified, after preceptorship, in Allergy and Immunology and in 1993 attended the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he received his Masters of Public Health in Occupational Medicine. He subsequently became certified in occupational medicine. He currently is in private practice specializing in allergy, occupational medicine, toxicology and internal medicine and serves as a consultant to a number of occupational medical clinics, the Texas Department of Insurance, the Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services, the Federal governement and the legal profession.
Dr. Leanne N. Cupon graduated from the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport , IA during 1996. Prior to moving to Georgia, her professional time in specialty practice, concentrating in rehabilitation and forensics, was divided between serving as Director of Quality Assurance and Compliance at the multidisciplinary Spine Center in Bethlehem, PA and doctoring in her own facility, Penn Jersey Chiropractic & Rehabilitation Clinic, PC in Phillipsburg, NJ. Dr. Joseph Ferezy is a native of New York City, New York. He received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1982 from Northwestern College of Chiropractic (NWCC), where he also received certification in meridian therapy (including acupuncture). Dr. Ferezy later completed a two year residency in Clinical Sciences (Neurology) and later served as an instructor and ultimately at the rank of assistant professor at NWCC. Dr. Ferezy is a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Academy of Neurology and a Fellow of the International Academy of Chiropractic Neurology. Dr. Gregg Friedman is a 2nd generation chiropractor and is a 1986 graduate of Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, now Southern California University of Health Sciences. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University. Dr. Friedman has practiced his entire career in Arizona and has been teaching continuing education seminars to chiropractors on the subject of documentation for many years. Dr. Karen Gardner graduated from Life College in 1993. She has two practices; one is within the walls of a local birth center and cares for dozens of moms to be each and every week. Although she is considered by many in her community to be a pregnancy and family care specialist she enjoys caring for the entire family. For more than two decades, Dr. Karen Gardner has diligently worked and studied the mechanisms of breech and transverse presentations, pregnancy and delivery and has written two books on the subject that can be found in chiropractic offices and schools around the world. Dr. Kristen Bobik Halland is a functional medicine practitioner who helps people feel their best and live life fully - by using only natural and conservative treatment. Alan Hickey received his certification in Massage Therapy from Emerald Coast Massage School, Fort Walton Beach Florida, in June of 2004, his national certification from the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (N.C.B.T.M.B.) and his state of Florida license to practice massage in Jan 2005. Since Jan 2005 he has continued his education in massage by becoming certified in infant massage, hot stone massage, pre and post pregnancy massage, sports massage, and several other massage modalities and techniques. He is currently enrolled in Oklahoma City University as a senior pursuing a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Professional Studies with an emphasis in Business.
He just completed a sixteen month massage instructorship in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where, in addition to teaching massage, he became involved in curriculum development, course scheduling, marketing and promotion, spa area/services development and design, and massage business applications for the nationally certified school. He is currently involved in the Oklahoma coalition for massage licensure for the state of Oklahoma. Prior to teaching massage, he directed the creation/operation of a day spa in the Destin Florida area that included contributing to the design, building, equipping, and day to day operation of the spa. As Corporate Vice President and Spa Director, his duties included equipment purchase and installation, hiring and management of all personnel, marketing and promotion to include print advertising, televised publicity, and numerous special events. He designed and published the spa menu and all printed material for the spa. He performed massage therapist duties at the spa. His own personal versions of the Hot Stone Massage and Couple's Synchronous Massage, with two massage therapists performing identical massage movements and techniques in perfect unison, set the standard along the Emerald Coast of Florida.

Dr. Gary Italia has Bachelor degrees in human biology and exercise science and a Masters degree in Human Nutrition. He is a licensed nutritionist by the state of Connecticut and has taught nutritional therapeutics (nutrition and disease) and sports nutrition in the Masters program at the University of Bridgeport for 10 years. Dr. Italia also has a Ph.D. in nutrition and holds certifications in nutrition and exercise (CSCS) and is a certified clinical nutritionist (CCN). Dr. Italia is a chiropractic physician who attained his Diplomate in neurology and nutrition. With his partner, he maintains two multi-disciplinary chiropractic centers. Dr. Italia has been practicing chiropractic for 23 years and nutrition and exercise for even longer. He practices nutrition with both patients and fitness club members where he is a staff nutritionist. Warren T. Jahn, DC, MPS, FACO graduated from the National College of Chiropractic (NCC) in December 1976. He was one of the first orthopedic residents in chiropractic and was the first acting chairman of the department of orthopedics at NCC's Patient and Research Center. Dr. Jahn received his Master of Professional Studies (MPS) degree concentrating in Biomechanical Trauma from Lynn University in conjunction with the University of Miami Medical School. Dr. Brett L. Kinsler earned his B.A. from the University of Rochester where he also completed post-graduate work in microbiology and immunology. He received his D.C. degree from the University of Bridgeport after graduating summa cum laude, salutatorian and was awarded the Joseph Janse Research Award for working to develop the student research program at the College of Chiropractic. Dr. Kinsler is a member of the American Chiropractic Association and former district vice-president and state delegate of the New York State Chiropractic Association. He has taught for the American Red Cross, University of Rochester Department of Pre-hospital Care, and the American Board of Trial Attorneys. Dr. Kinsler's past experiences range from research at a pain treatment center (work published in the journal PAIN), startup medical device research, running pharmaceutical clinical trials, and surgical recovery of human organs and tissues for transplant. He is a former emergency medical technician and past director of an ALS/BLS ambulance service. Kinsler is a past officer and board member of the West Hartford Group, an international chiropractic think tank. After 20 years in practice, he is currently a principal in a healthcare technology consulting firm directing clinical transformation and working on projects that include clinical informatics, vendor market attack plans and electronic record interoperability strategic planning.
Dr. George Kukurin is a member of the charter class of chiropractic neurologists and has been practicing chiropractic neurology for more than 20 years. He has been affiliated with a number of postgraduate education departments including the Carrick Institute and Parker College. His interests are the translation of clinical neuroscience research into novel applications for patient care. Dr. Kukurin is board-certified in chiropractic neurology and also has completed chiropractic Advanced Practice training through National University of Health Sciences. He maintains active practices in Pittsburgh, PA and Phoenix, AZ.
Dr. Marc G. Lawson graduated with Bachelor’s Science degree in Physical Education / Sports Medicine from San Diego State University in 1984 and received a Chiropractic Degree from Cleveland Chiropractic College in 1987. He holds a lifetime Community College teaching credential in the field of Health Sciences and Related Technology, is a Qualified Medical Examiner in the State of California, and possesses a Radiography and Fluoroscopy X-Ray Supervisor and Operator license/permit. Dr. Lawson started his chiropractic practice in 1988 and is still treats patients today. Dr. Lawson previously hosted professional seminars for chiropractors (and their office staff) on the policies and procedures for treating patients, documenting care, reporting progress, and billing for California workers’ compensation. Dr. Martensen is a cum laude 1984 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Ia. He did his internship in departments of chiropractic technique and radiology and residency in diagnostic radiology at Palmer College in Iowa. Following residency Dr. Martensen entered private practice of radiology in 1988 in Toledo, Ohio where he still remains. Dr. Martensen is a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Radiology (D.A.C.B.R.) and has specialty certification in CT and MRI interpretation. Dr. Martensen graduated from the Medical University of Ohio at Toledo in 2004 with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Medical Sciences, concentration in radiology.
Dr. Martensen's professional involvement is extensive. He is past president of the American Chiropractic College of Radiology (ACCR). Dr. Martensen also heads up the ACCR Commission on Radiological Physics and Safety as Commission chair and is a senior physicist for the Commission. He represents the ACCR and American Chiropractic Association (ACA) as a liaison to the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) and Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors (CRCPD). In his home state of Ohio, Dr. Martensen is a member of the board of directors of the Ohio State Chiropractic Association (OSCA) and chairs the OSCA Council on Diagnostic Imaging.
Dr. Martensen lectures frequently on topics ranging from advanced imaging, MRI, CT, nuclear medicine, radiology, radiological physics, radiation safety and health to anatomy, pathophysiology, rehabilitation and active care. He is on postgraduate faculty of multiple chiropractic colleges and a frequent contributor of online CE education courses. Dr. Robin Mayfield has been helping women feel great using holistic healthcare since 1992. Dr. Michael Megehee was appointed by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) in 2005 as a member of the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiner (NRCME) Brainstorming Sessions. He was a Subject Matter Expert/ Member of the National Registry Working Integrated Product Team (WIPT) that developed the Survey instrument used to establish the basis for NRCME certification. He was subsequently appointed to the National Registry Education Team that developed the core curriculum for the accredited physician training and he assisted the National Registry Test Team to develop and write test questions for the National Registry Certification Test. He is a current National Registry “Champion” assisting the FMCSA with National Registry issues and progress. Dr. Megehee is a featured speaker/instructor with the Owner Operator Independent Driver Association Driver (OOIDA) Education series and assists OOIDA with their members’ medical exam concerns. He is a nationally published author and radio show guest, and has traveled the U.S. training physicians regarding the DOT physical exam. Dr. Melanie Osterhouse was the valedictorian of the National University of Health Sciences (formerly known as National College of Chiropractic) and was the recipient of the Joseph Janse Outstanding Graduate Award that year. She continued her education as a Logan College of Chiropractic resident and obtained board certification in chiropractic radiology (D.A.C.B.R.) in 2002. She became a full-time faculty member at Logan College of Chiropractic, teaching geriatrics, rheumatology, x-ray physics, and physical diagnosis. She had a radiology consulting practice for four years, reading plain film and MRI. Dr. Osterhouse moved to Maryland and is currently a tenured full professor at the College of Southern Maryland where she teaches anatomy and physiology, nutrition, mathematics, and microbiology.
Dr. Richard Powers studied a premedical curriculum at Tulane University, carrying a double major in Biochemistry and Physics. In 1980 he received his doctorate in chiropractic medicine, graduating summa cum laude. Over the past thirty years, Dr. Powers has received extensive post-graduate training both in the U.S. and abroad, and is well versed in the fields of biological and functional medicine, clinical nutrition, detoxification, cancer and disease prevention, exercise physiology, homeopathic medicine, and lifestyle counseling. Dr. Angelica Redleaf is a graduate of New York Chiropractic College and has been a chiropractor in private practice in Providence, Rhode Island since 1978. She graduated with a double degree in Anthropology and Education from Hunter College in NYC and taught in the NYC school system as well as in California. She has studied and researched ethics and the doctor/patient relationship ever since opening her practice. She has had numerous articles published on those topics and speaks on the subject of Ethics and Professional Boundaries. Dr. Schafer is a 1980 Life Chiropractic college graduate and owned several successful practices in Georgia and South Carolina. She also attended the University of Alabama for B.S in Nursing and University of Phoenix College for Masters in Business. Dr. Schafer has been presenting continuing educational lectures and doing live seminars for fifteen years. She also does research and along with Dr. Russell McArthur, was one of the poster winners at the WFC 11th Biennial Congress at Rio De Janeiro. Schafer completed the MDA entrepreneur program and Mississippi Nonprofit leadership training and currently serves on many community boards, leading programs and writing grants. In her spare time, she writes academic, nonfiction and fiction books and articles. Schafer is an adjunct professor at Midlands Technical College Health Science department. Currently she serves as ambassador for the Foodshare South Carolina Program for Fairfield County, S.C. As an avid community volunteer, Virginia has been serving on Fairfield County Behavior Resources board for three years and works on projects such as smoking cessation, alcohol and drug rehab, domestic violence, obesity and nutritional intervention. She lives in rural South Carolina and has a small farm, two horses, two dogs and a cat.
Dr. Robert Schwer, a graduate of National College of Chiropractic, was valedictorian of his class in 1987. His under-graduate training at the State University of New York at Buffalo emphasized cell and molecular biology. Dr. Paul R. Sherman received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition from Park College in Parkville, Missouri and his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from Cleveland Chiropractic College Kansas City, Missouri. He also completed a one year clinical internship at the Cleveland Chiropractic Clinic and a one year clerkship with Michael Sherman, D.C. Dr. Paul Sherman has been with the University of Bridgeport since 1998. Dr. Linda Simon, a practicing Chiropractic physician in Scottsdale, Arizona has co-owned Simon Chiropractic, P.C. an Interdisciplinary Health Clinic with her husband, Dr. Ira Simon for over thirty years. Born, Linda Bloomberg in Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Simon is a Magna Cum Laude graduate from Pace University in New York City with her 1981 degree in Biological Research. With a 1985 diploma from New York Chiropractic College, she and her husband opened Simon Chiropractic as a family practice specializing in complicated cases. Dr. Simon began her writing career immediately after arriving in Arizona as the Health Editor of Today's Arizona Woman and contributing author to Arizona Living Magazine. Dr. David Taylor obtained his DC degree from National University of Health Sciences and graduated from the Neurology Residency program at Logan College of Chiropractic, earning his Diplomate from the American Board of Chiropractic Neurology. Since then he has been awarded a Fellow from the International Academy of Chiropractic Neurology and the International College of Chiropractic Neurology. He currently serves on the executive board of the ICCN. Dr. Taylor was the founder and president of Multimed Center, Inc, for 30 years. He was the first chiropractor in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to own a multidisciplinary practice that employed chiropractors, anesthesiologist/pain specialists, physiatrist, osteopath, physical therapist, physical therapy assistants, massage therapists, acupuncturists, and psychologists. Dr. Taylor was also the president of Healthcare Review & Consulting, Inc., a medicolegal consulting company, and the owner of Pioneer Neurodiagnostics, a neurological testing and consulting company. He was appointed by two governors to serve on the Massachusetts Board of Chiropractic Examiners, and has served on the board of directors of the Mass. After serving as clinic director at Texas Chiropractic College, he currently is on faculty as an associate professor of clinical sciences and continues to serve as adjunct professor in the post-graduate department of many other chiropractic colleges.

Dr. Todd Turnbull graduated from Life University in 1991, Dr. Turnbull has maintained a sports practice focused on helping athletes unleash their full potential. He completed the Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician program at Palmer University in 2001. Dr. Jim Ventresca has trained thousands of Chiropractors, Doctors, Acupuncturists, Medical Students, Nurses, and Other Health Care Professionals in virtually all aspects of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. A 1984 graduate and past faculty member of the New England School of Acupuncture, he was among the first group of acupuncturists in the United States to achieve National Board Certification as a Diplomate of Acupuncture, and licensure in the State of Massachusetts. Dr. Ventresca also holds licensure as a Doctor of Oriental Medicine, in New Mexico. In addition to practicing in busy clinical settings and teaching acupuncture since 1984, Dr. Jim is a co-founder of a publicly funded HIV/AIDS Substance Abuse Treatment Center. Dr. Ivo Waerlop or "Dr Ivo" as most people call him, is a 1986 summa cum laude graduate of the New York Chiropractic College. He received his post-graduate neurology diplomate from Logan Chiropractic College; he became board certified in 1990. Dr Ivo works with a broad base of patients including Olympic level, professional and paraprofessional running, skiing and cycling athletes at his private practice in Dillon, Colorado. He is an adjunct faculty member for post graduate education with the National University of Health Sciences in Chicago, a life science faculty member of the Colorado Mountain College in Dillon, Colorado, and is on the post graduate faculty of Chirocredit.com, an online post graduate education center. He lectures nationally on foot-ankle and gait biomechanics, rehabilitation, acupuncture and beginning this fall, dry needling. Dr. John Wallman is a chiropractic physician with a post-doctoral specialty in clinical nutrition and practice emphasis in exercise biomechanics and endocrinology. His family background in healthcare starts in the early 1900’s with his great uncle and later his father as pioneering doctors of chiropractic who helped advance the profession to become one of the leading portal of entry health care professions in the world. He received his undergraduate education at SUNY Stony Brook and his graduate education at National College of Chiropractic and University of Massachusetts. Dr. Weiner is a 1990 graduate of Northwestern College of Chiropractic, now a college of Northwestern Health Sciences University, where he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. He completed a three-year residency in chiropractic radiology at Los Angeles College of Chiropractic from 1992-95, a college of Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCUHS), where he qualified to sit for the American Chiropractic Board of Radiology certification exam, earning his board certification (DACBR) in 1995. Subsequently, Dr. Weiner served as Assistant Professor of Radiology at SCUHS and maintained a private radiological consultation practice. Several years later, he returned to medical school at Ross University School of Medicine where he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree in 2010, graduating valedictorian of his medical class. He completed his internship in internal medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) in 2011, and went on to complete two years of nuclear medicine residency in the department of radiology, nuclear medicine section, at MCW and its affiliated hospitals including Froedtert Hospital, a 516 bed academic tertiary-care level-one trauma center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as well as the Veterans Administration Hospital and the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, both located in Milwaukee. He completed his medical radiology residency in 2016 at St. Vincent's Medical Center, the primary teaching hospital for the Frank H Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University, in Bridgeport, CT, a 473-bed community teaching and referral hospital with a Level II trauma center. Dr. Weiner is triple-boarded; in addition to his board certification in chiropractic radiology, he earned board certification in nuclear medicine by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine in 2015 as well as board certification in radiology by the American Board of Radiology in 2016. He is currently a licensed physician and neuroradiology fellow at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC, a 371-bed academic tertiary care Level I trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, where fellows are trained in standard neurological CT and MRI protocols as well as advanced techniques such as functional MRI, diffusion tensor tractography, quantitative MRI for seizure and dementia evaluation, CSF flow imaging, MR spectroscopy, arterial spin labeling perfusion MRI, and dynamic contrast enhanced MRI. He has authored articles in both chiropractic and medical journals and has given many post-graduate continuing education lectures on the topics of musculoskeletal imaging, neuroradiology, head & neck imaging, nuclear medicine, and radiological differential diagnosis. Dr. Weiner is a tennis, golf, and ice hockey enthusiast and makes his home with his wife Melissa in Washington, DC.
