Alberta requires 40 hours of Continued Competence over a 2 year period, on an even year.

The renewal of CPR-HCP with AED every 2 years. Emergency Procedures if required by practice of Restricted Acts every 4 years.

  • CATEGORY "C": Research and Self-Directed Study. 4 hours maximum for original published research or self-directed study.

  • CATEGORY "D": Other Required Hours, Restricted Act Competence Hours.
    Emergency Procedures - If you practice one or more Restricted Activities, additional hours for the Emergency Procedures Course I or I/II will be required every 4 years. These hours count towards Category B. CPR - A course in Health Care Provider CPR with AED is required every 2 years. These hours do not count towards Category B.
