Treatment:

For this case, if we look at the patient’s mechanism of injury and relatively unremarkable history a trial of conservative care would be warranted. A combination of manual therapy including Chiropractic manipulation, rehabilitation, and home care recommendations would be beneficial. Also, possible dietary recommendations such as an anti-inflammatory diet (reduction of meat and dairy; increased intake of water, fish oils (especially salmon), as well as the decreased intake of intake of salt may also provide benefit. If, however the patient doesn’t respond as you might expect over the course of a could weeks, then X-Rays may be warranted to rule out a possible pathology or structural anomaly.
