Treatment

Most of us will not be treating patients with spontaneous intracranial hypotension, however, we should keep it in mind for patients that present with severe, acute onset headache. Strick bed rest is the first line of treatment. If this fails to resolve the issue or if the condition become recurrent then an epidural blood patch or a percutaneous injection of fibrin glue can be used to seal the leak.
