45 yo female patient with scoliosis presents with back and neck pain and right arm and hand numbness
Linda Simon, DC
With the possibility of a spinal related neurological component, MRI of the cervical spine would detect any spinal related neurological compression disorders. Plain film X-rays of this patient’s full spine scoliosis. X-rays and MRI were taken. MRI was negative for spinal stenosis, spondylosis, foraminal compression or disc disease.
The next consideration should be myofascial compression of nerve structures causing the numbness.
Question: Which myofascial structures should be assessed to determine where the nerve compression may be occurring?
