45 yo female with severe headaches

Patient stated that she has been diagnosed and experiencing migraine headaches for 20 years and has been on medication for 10 years. She further stated that she has not had complete relief from her medication and that she is aware that she gets rebound headaches from the medication. This patient is active and athletic. She does not work. She is married and raises her 15 year old son with her husband. There is no history of trauma. This patient states that she is currently under stress. The headaches occur once or twice per week and they are described as all over her head radiating from her shoulders and neck. There is no light or noise hypersensitivity. Recent MRI of the cervical spine were within normal limits. This patient believes that the headaches begin in her neck and shoulders and that they may not be migraines.
