Florida Continuing Education Requirements:
Massage Therapist: 24 hours biennially - Florida Accepts 12 hours of Massage Therapy Online Continuing Education Courses

Special Requirements:

• 12 hours must be relevant to Massage techniques - including history of massage, human anatomy & physiology, kinesiology and/or pathology
• 2 hrs required in prevention of medical errors
• 2 hrs required in ethics. Not required for first year license renewals
• 2 hrs required in Florida Rules and Laws. Not required for first year license renewals
• In addition to the 24 hours required above, a course in HIV/AIDS is also required for renewal.
• CE should not exceed 25 hour per biennium.

 

NCBTMB Requirements: 48 hours of continuing education (CE) every four years. Six of the 48 hours must be taken in ethics.

All NCBTMB required continuing education may be met with online continuing education courses.

Continuing Education Requirements by NCBTMB

The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) is the national governing body responsible for credentialing Massage Therapists. In order to maintain current certification, a Massage Therapist is required to take 48 hours of continuing education (CE) every four years. Six of the 48 hours must be taken in ethics. Forty-eight hours of CE may be earned through NCBTMB Approved Providers. OnlineContinuingEd, LLC is an Approved Provider of the NCBTMB (#422983-00).
